Scotch egg in Air fryer

Ingredients

  • 280 g minced pork sausage
  • 2 g garlic powder
  • 1 g onion powder
  • 1 g dried sage
  • 2 g salt
  • 1 g black pepper
  • 4 eggs, half boiled, peeled
  • 60 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 40 g Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Steps

  1. Mix the sausage, garlic powder, onion powder, sage, salt and pepper. Divide into four balls.
  2. Wrap sausage around each half peeled hard boiled egg until egg is completely covered.
  3. Coat each sausage covered egg with flour, then dip in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs.
  4. Dip again in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs one last time.
  5. Select Preheat, set the temperature to 175°C and press Start/Pause.
  6. Spray the eggs generously with oil spray.
  7. Place the Scotch eggs in the preheated air fryer.
  8. Select Frozen Foods, set the time to 15 minutes and press Start/Pause. Be sure to turn the eggs halfway through cooking (the Stirring Reminder function will let you know when).
  9. Select Frozen Foods, set the time to 15 minutes and press Start/Pause.

Chef’s Recommendations

We recommend that you try several times if they don’t come out perfect the first time. Take a reference of your oil-less fryer, if it needs more or less temperature with what is specified in the recipe. Not all fryers are the same, and times may vary slightly. This recipe has been tested in a Cosori air fryer, but you can use another manufacturer’s air fryer without any problems.
