Air Fryer Banana Bread

Moist, tender air fryer banana bread studded with dark chocolate and walnuts — all the comfort of the classic loaf without heating up the oven. The air fryer bakes it evenly with a beautifully domed, golden top.
It's the perfect use for over-ripe bananas, and a small loaf bakes faster than in a conventional oven. Warm from the basket with a little butter, it's unbeatable.
Ingredients
Instructions
Cream & mash
Beat the softened butter with the sugar and eggs until light. Mash the bananas and stir them in.
Combine
Whisk the flour, baking powder and cinnamon, then fold into the wet mix. Stir in most of the chocolate chips and walnuts.
Bake
Pour into a greased or lined loaf pan that fits your basket, top with the reserved chips and nuts, and air fry at 325°F for about 35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool
Cool in the pan 10 minutes before turning out and slicing.
- The riper the bananas, the sweeter and moister the bread.
- Tent with foil if the top browns before the center is done.
- Use a loaf or round pan that leaves airflow around it.
Frequently asked
How long does banana bread take in the air fryer?
About 35 minutes at 325°F in a small loaf pan. Check with a toothpick — it should come out clean.
Why is the top browning too fast?
The food sits close to the element. Loosely tent the top with foil once it's golden and let the center finish.
Can I make it without nuts or chocolate?
Yes — leave either or both out, or swap in blueberries or chopped dates.
